MASERU - On Thursday visiting US artiste, Akua Naru was in Teyateyaneng (TY) where she addressed a group of youths at the Thakaneng Youth Centre.
She went to TY to engage with a group of young people about the various challenges that they face while also giving them examples from her own experiences. She gave examples about the obstacles that she came across in her career as a black woman trying to break into a male dominated industry (Hip-Hop music industry) in America.
As an individual and a black woman Naru has a lot to offer and the trip to TY was successful as she got to interact with the youth in open discussions about challenges they face in their personal lives as well as in their community.
She encouraged youths to remain positive regardless of the challenges they face in society.
After this Naru then went St. Catherine's High School (an all girls high school) to also share with a group of young women that look up to her and appreciate the work that she has done for black women all over the world.
