MASERU - Alliance Francaise, together with their partners, are celebrating 50 years of women in Lesotho.
Based on the 50 years of independence the celebration is meant to acknowledge the important role women have played in the growth of Lesotho since 1996.
The purpose is to raise awareness of how women have moved from being restricted from certain privileges that only men had in a variety of fields as a result of societal structures, to how they have come to occupy prominent positions that have allowed them to have a direct positive influence in the country.
