Maseru - The popular Moshoeshoe Walk from Menkhoaneng to Thaba-Bosiu will this year take a different route due to the current rainfalls.
Team Leader Retselisitsoe Sekake said they would take an alternative route from Ha Seetsa to Mahobong where they would use a footbridge to cross the Pitseng River.
He further highlighted that the walk would be extended by only two hours from the normal.
Sekake mentioned that popular last year saw the Queen among the participants and that her presence in this walk was a great sign of unity among Basotho.
He said the activity has contributed significantly to the economy of Lesotho especially among the communities situated along the way, where the residents get a chance to provide water, food and accommodation to the participants among other things.
This year's walk will commence on March 09 to 11.
