Maseru - A 31 year-old man from Sebitia in Berea is in police custody awaiting trial for the alleged murder of his 29 year-old neighbour.
According to the Deputy Public Relations Officer (DPRO) of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) Senior Inspector Lerato Motseki the suspect will appear in court when investigations are complete.
She said the two men were drinking a local brew at a village shebeen when they got into a fight which was later defused by onlookers.
The police DPRO added that later that day, the deceased allegedly followed the suspect having with him two knives and an iron rod with an intention to attack the other man.
The suspect acting in self-defence allegedly drew a stick and fatally hit the now deceased man.
