Maseru - Lesotho Council of Non-Governmental Organizations (LCN) says Lesotho's democracy has been tested and the constitution tried in the unfolding political developments of the past week.

In a press statement on Tuesday, LCN said it finds the vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili, which was successfully passed, a very bold, mature and responsible gesture of those for the time being endowed with responsibility to serve in the positions of power.

This is highly commendable because it enhanced appreciation of democracy and constitutionality, LCN said.

The non-governmental body was equally quick to condemn the sideling of the Council of State in the decision to dissolve parliament after the defeat in parliament of the Mosisili-led coalition government saying it could set a bad precedent.
