MASERU - The case in which members of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) accused of fatally shooting former army Commander, the late Lt Gen Maaparankoe Mahao continues in the High Court this afternoon. The matter had been expected to commence this morning but Acting Chief Justice ’Maseforo Mahase rescheduled it to this afternoon after one of the accused Sergeant Motsamai Fako was rushed to hospital for a medical check-up.
Fako is charged along with Captain Litekanyo Nyakane, Capt Haleo Makara, Sgt Lekhooa Moepi, Corporal Marasi 'Moleli, Cpl Motšoane Machai, Cpl Mohlalefi Seitlheko and Cpl Tšitso Ramoholi for Mahao’s murder. Mahao was killed on his way from his home village of Mokema, Maseru on June 25, 2015. The army which has since claimed responsibility said he was shot resisting arrest.
