MASERU – Mabote Beavers will host arch-rivals Maseru Warriors in an explosive Econet Rugby League clash at the Mabote Ground tomorrow. Warriors go to the Saturday’s tie looking to continue their unbeaten run in the league and keep their pole position on the six-team Econet Rugby League log table. Beavers coach, Letsielo Mabitle, said they were ready for the Warriors. “We are very much prepared for the Warriors match and eager to win it,” said Mabitle in an interview with Public Eye. Mabitle further said: “As the hosts, we are expected to win and that is our main target.”

But Mabitle admitted that Warriors are the most tough opponents in the league. “We are aware that Warriors are the most tough opponents to play against, but we will try hard.” This is despite that Beavers are likely to miss the service of Thabang Marupelo and Kananelo ’Molaoa since both players are nursing injuries. The two players, Mabitle said had sustained the injuries during the team’s training sessions. “But besides that, we have all other players ready for the game,” Mabitle said.

Warriors coach, Morapeli Motaung, said it’s that his team would be out to maintain its unbeaten record in the current rugby season. “We are very determined to maintain standard and our unbeaten record in the league,” said Motaung. The Warriors coach also said what’s good about his team was that it was not under pressure. But he said they could not underestimate Beavers. “We cannot deny the fact that Mabote Beavers have experienced players.

“But we are confident that we will put up a good performance and win the game,” Morapeli said. Just like his Beavers counterpart, Warriors Coach has doubts about the readiness his two players, Bakoena Nketsi and Lebatla Lebatla who are both nursing injuries. Motaung said the two players were however being assessed for the Beavers game. In another Econet League tie on Saturday, the National University of Lesotho (NUL) Spears will take on Liqhomane at the same venue, Mabote Ground.
