MASERU – Six mentees from the High Potentials Leadership Development Programme on September 25 graduated from the National University of Lesotho (NUL) academic, leadership coach and law lecturer, Advocate Mothepa Ndumo-led programme.

Advocate Ndumo is also a board certified Executive and Leadership Coach (SA) and runs these leadership development programmes for unemployed graduates and those pursuing their tertiary studies in Lesotho.

Her company, the South African registered Higher Self Career and Executive Coaching, has now relocated to Lesotho as Tataiso Afrika t/a Higher Self (Pty) Ltd and she is looking forward to deepening her engagement with the youth in Lesotho to give them hope and skills for the future.

“It has been challenging running this programme wholly online for months and months because of the pandemic. Some of these graduates joined our Masterclasses from places like Tšakholo in Mafeteng, Morija and Mazenod and they experienced issues with unstable signals and connections.

“One-on-One and group coaching sessions were also conducted via online video conferencing platforms and the data costs were prohibitive for them but these six soldiered on till the end,” said an excited Ndumo. “The other challenge has been funding so, one just soldiers on primarily from self-funding,” Ndumo shared.

Three of the six graduates (Moleboheng Moekoa, Refiloe Molupe and Joalane Lemao) are from the first cohort of the programme and spent over a year on it, with breaks in between, while the other three (Motsamai Rammoko, Christina Jere and ’Mamakhotla Tlali) are from the second cohort and spent six months on the programme.

Christina Jere is a Malawian national resident in Botswana and could not join the festivities at Kick4Life Conferencing Centre and Café No 7 Restaurant this past weekend. “I am definitely doing this again and again as long as God has given me the gift of breath,” said Ndumo in closing.
