Maseru- Prime Minister Dr. Moeketsi Majoro has extended the lockdown by another 7 days. Despite restrictions and measures placed to alleviate the spread and impact of COVID 19, Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro said in his speech today that the situation is worsening.

Majoro said the virus continues to claim many lives although there has been a decline in positive cases during the lockdown than there was prior to it.

“Before lockdown 47 percent of the people that tested came out positive, now 36 percent of the people that tested came out positive,” he said adding that lockdown will be extended to 3rd.

Majoro admitted that the issue of Oxygen unavailability at local health centres has posed great challenges but he assured members of the public that government is working hard to come up with a sustainable solution.
