MASERU – Nedbank Lesotho yesterday donated M56 000 to the Royal Education Development Trust Fund in celebration of His Majesty King Letsie’s 56th birthday.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Nedbank’s Managing Director Nkau Matete said the donation is a trend which the bank started when the King turned 51.
The donation is a birthday present and a token of appreciation for the good work that the King does of putting needy students in school, he said.
Matete said he wishes the Trust Fund would grow and continue to touch many more lives, emphasising that there is nothing more important than education because through it people make a living.
He therefore said he hopes a few students will benefit from the donation so that their lives could be changed for the better.
In his speech, King Letsie thanked Nedbank Lesotho for the noble gesture of acknowledging his birthday adding the bank has been doing that for several years now.
