MASERU – A 28-year-old man from Mount Moorosi in Quthing was arrested last week for allegedly sexually assaulting a 22-year-old woman.
Police said on December 26, 2020 the two had been drinking together until night time when the accused offered to accompany the victim home. On their way the woman was allegedly sexually assaulted.
Police spokesperson senior superintendent Mpeti Mopeli said the offender appeared before the magistrate’s court on May 24, 2021.
Meanwhile, a 33-year-old Nigerian national was arrested on May 22, 2021 for attempted fraud.
He allegedly visited one of the local banks to apply for some services and produced documents that certified him as a Lesotho national.
According to the police, it was discovered then that he was a Nigerian national whose passport also had a South African Visa in it.
He will appear before the court pending investigations.
