Police warn curfew breakers

Maseru – Police have issued a stern warning to citizens who violate the curfew imposed during the current 14-day lockdown.

In a press statement released yesterday, police spokesperson, Senior Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli, said police will take harsh measures against all those found violating the curfew.

This, he said, was in terms of Section 37 of the Internal Security Act of 1984, read together with Section 37A of the same Act- order no. 14 of 1991 which states that the Commissioner of Police has the power to impose such measures.

He further advised Basotho to stay safe by adhering to the regulations set by the government in fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
