Maseru- Football fans will be allowed back to the stadium in the next season of the Econet Premier league after the Prime minister’s speech on Sunday in which he permitted a sizeable number of spectators at football matches.
Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro said fans will be allowed to watch their favourite teams do battle after the country moved from purple to the blue stage effective from today.
Under this stage, outdoor sports are now permitted with up to 50% capacity for spectators’ allow into the stadium to watch the matches.
One football fan Moshoeshoe Seetsa said he is very happy about this decision since they will again be able to watch their favourite sport. “I am happy that the government came with this decision because some of us really can’t do without soccer,” Seetsa said.
Majoro, however, cautioned Basotho that although restrictions are being relaxed, Basotho should continue abiding by the rules in order to avoid another lockdown.
