Three years in jail for stealing Econet cables

MASERU – Two Basotho men who live at Ha Thamae were sentenced to three years’ imprisonment each for stealing electrical cables.
Rets’elisitsoe Matona of Mants’onyane, 35, and Ts’eliso Molatuoa of Harapoeea, Leribe, 41, were found guilty of theft and vandalism by the Maseru magistrate court.
They were both sentenced to three years’ imprisonment with the option of M3 000 bail each which they both failed to pay.
According to the police spokesperson, Senior Supritendent Mpiti Mopeli, the duo vandalized and stole electrical cables belonging to Econet Telecom Lesotho, valued at M243,908.
