Open letter to Prime Minister Matekane

Dear Mr Sam Ntsokoane Matekane,
I hope this letter finds you well.
I am writing to bring to your attention to a pressing issue affecting our community in Sehlabeng that urgently needs our local support. Currently, we face significant challenges in accessing potable water, which has become a substantial burden on our residents both financially and physically. Many families are forced to travel long distances to obtain water, resulting in increased expenses and considerable inconvenience. This problem is particularly severe for the elderly and those with limited mobility and it is therefore affecting their overall quality of life.
To address this critical issue, I propose the following solutions:
- We could develop and install new water fountains within our community which could provide a more reliable and accessible water source since the ones we currently have provide less water which also causes people to suffer financially by having to travel for water. This would significantly reduce the need for long travel and lower the financial burden on residents.
- Developing water supply systems in communities, such as tap water and piped water, which could ensure that all residents have consistent access to clean water.
- Government support and funding and securing government funding is crucial for these projects. We would need to create a detailed proposal to show how the projects will work and how much they will cost. This proposal can then be submitted to the appropriate government departments for review and approval.
- Engagement with private companies to collaborate on this initiative which might provide additional resources and expertise, facilitating faster and more efficient project implementation.
I kindly request your support in addressing this issue and advocating for these solutions. Your assistance in securing the necessary resources and facilitating discussions with relevant authorities would be invaluable.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your response and hope for positive action to improve the lives of our community members.
Yours sincerely, Paballo Juliet Kabi
