Zambia thrash Mehalalitoe 8-0

MASERU – The senior national women football team, Mehalalitoe, have begun their journey on the Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Women’s Championships on a rather chaotic note after losing to Zambia by a humbling 8-0.

Mehalalitoe were trailing 1-0 before half-time before further conceding 7 goals before full-time with Zambian striker Barbra Banda claiming the biggest piece of the cake after scoring a hat-trick on her return to the tournament for the first time since 2017.

On the other hand, defending champions South Africa and Eswatini both claimed victories on the opening day of the COSAFA Women’s Championship.
