Man assaults, rapes 17-year-old girl

Quthing – Reports of cases of gender-based violence against women continue every week as men continue raping and assaulting women.
A 42-year-old man, Sibusiso Pokoane, who lives in Ha Ts’iu appeared before the magistrates’ court on the 12 January accusing of raping and beating up a 17-year-old girl.
Senior Inspector Mareabetsoe Mofoka said the girl was coming from a bar when she met Pokoane who raped and struck her while threatening to kill her.
He remains in police custody.
