Medical oxygen delivered

Maseru – Gas cylinder supplier Afrox is set to deliver 150 cylinders of medical oxygen in Lesotho this afternoon.
Each cylinder contains 8,600 litres of oxygen which is equivalent to 11.5kg.
Oxygen cylinders will be dispatched to hospitals that are in dire need to cover over the weekend then distribute to other hospitals for general upkeep.
According to a statement by NACOSEC, on Monday 1st February 2021, Afrox is expected to deliver medical oxygen to Berea, Motebang and Butha Buthe. On Tuesday Mafeteng, Mohale`s Hoek and Quthing will receive oxygen, while other hospitals are expected to collect oxygen from Afrox Lesotho.
NACOSEC said this initiative is a short-term plan, adding that the medium-term plan is to use the already existent plant and that in the long term, the plan is to complete oxygen plants at Mafeteng and Motebang hospitals, respectively.
