NACOSEC embarks on information dissemination

Maseru – As different vaccines surface globally to mitigate the spread of Covid-19, controversies continue as people question the effectiveness and safety of some of these vaccines.
A number of Basotho have said they would not be taking any vaccine in April when the government hopes to start administering it.
NACOSEC’s risk communications manager, Baroane Phenethi, speaking on community sensitisation about Covid-19 vaccines, said they are working with DICOSEC to ensure correct information is disseminated to community members through community councillors and local chiefs to reduce confusion and misconceptions.
He said local health care centres are already providing appropriate education and information to Basotho regarding the importance of taking vaccines, adding they will use different media platforms to reach more Basotho.
