AD urges Majoro to probe deaths of 3 police trainees

Maseru – The Opposition Alliance for Democrats (AD) has issued a statement today expressing concern over the deaths of three police recruits at the Police Training Centre (PTC) this past week. AD is concerned that there is no clear explanations to regarding these deaths.
In their statement DC urged Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro and the government of Lesotho to conduct thorough investigations into the cause of the deaths.
They added the investigation should be conducted by a foreign team of independent experts, along with some from Lesotho including some members of parliament.
“As soon as the investigations are completed, we expect the government to publish the findings to the general public and deal accordingly with individuals who may have had a hand in these deaths,” DC wrote in their statement.
There are serious allegations of nepotism in the recruitment of police trainees.
