Vodacom donates M15 million for Covid-19 vaccine.

The government of lesotho today received M15 million from Vodacom Lesotho towards purchasing Covid-19 vaccines.

Speaking on behalf of vodacom Lesotho, Leboela Lebete, chairperson of the board, said the voucher is meant to extend a helping hand in the government to purchase the vaccine.
“After the purchase of the necessary vaccine, the vaccination process will depend entirely on the government and no favouratism will occur,” he said.
Prime Minister Dr. Moeketsi Majoro thanked Vodacom Lesotho for their generosity and urged other private sector players to follow I Vodacom’s footsteps. He pleaded with the nation to be patient as it is not easy to purchase the vaccine.
“Basotho ought to beware that a lot of countries are in dire need of the vaccine, therefore it is not easy to purchase. Apart from that, countries which produce vaccines prioritize their citizens first, which further hardens its accessibility,” he concluded

Around 66 000 Basotho are expected to be vaccinated after the doses arrive.
