MASERU – Out-of-favour attacking midfielder, Tshwarelo Bereng, has found a new football home after signing for South African DSTV Premier League side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila this week.

The Lesotho international is reported by South African press as having been training with the club for the past few weeks with the hope of securing a deal.

Bereng is reported to have inked a contract with the premier league newcomers until the end of the next season.

The 29-years-ol player finds this new lease of life after his departure from another South African outfit Black Leopards, which he joined in 2018 on a free transfer following a successful trial spell; he signed for the Limpopo-based team at the time he was being touted a Kaizer Chiefs target.

Bereng was heavily linked with Chiefs whilst still on the books of the ‘Chilli Boys’ – before moving from United as a free agent midway through the 2017/18 season. He left in January 2018.

SuperSport United were also at some point rumoured to be interested in signing Bereng, but the deal fell through.

In October 2020 Bereng moved to South African First Division side TS Sporting after leaving Leopards on a free transfer at the end of the 2019/2020 season.

While he has been a solid part of the Likuena in recent times, then clubless he was dropped from national team coach, Thabo Senong’s final squad in the just ended CAF qualifiers campaign, along with another surprise omission from the squad Luciano Matsoso who has since announced his retirement from national duty.
