BEREA – Vodacom Lesotho Step-up 2018 contestant, Molefi Letele, says riding on the ‘Sesotho fashioneng’ concept hype he will take his Famo hip hop-tinged sound to great heights.

In an interview with Life&Style this week the artist said he is currently working on a new-mix tape that will be dropping in September this year. He has a number of singles under his belt, with ‘Poulelo’ performing tremendously – fans like it.

“I also have another singleon this one, ‘Did you wrong’ in which I featured Young Billy, a lot of work has already been done though a lot still remains on this mix-tape,” he says. An artist and songwriter in his own right, KS, as he is called by his fans, has also taken keen interest in music production.

“I am not living the life yet, but in the past decade in which I have been in the music industry I sometimes feel like giving up due to its challenges…for instance, I never had any radio play for my music to be known, but it was through people appreciating my craft.

I understand things need hard work to eventually manifest, and am very patient with my passion for I know my kind of style in music needs to be listened and repeated as it is something new, something I came up with that no one has tried before,” he continues.

Based at Ha Ntjabane, Teyateyaneng, in the Berea district the artist has, beginning 2011 to date, released three mix-tapes; in 2017 he released his debut titled ‘Tsoelopele’ and the following year he dropped another mix-tape ‘Makolulo’. ‘Letsi-letsi’ was released in 2019.

KS has shared the stage with some of the big acts in this country, the likes of  Malome Vector, who is making waves in South Africa and the ‘Sesotho fashioneng’ pioneer Megahertz of Penya Play – Ntate Stunna.

KS’s music is available on hard copies around music stores in Berea, while he also sells his own copies – he promises to go digital on his next offerings.
