Legendary music icon Tshola laid to rest

Maseru – The legendary singer Tshepo Mobu Tshola was laid to rest today at Thaba-Bosiu, just outside the capital Maseru.

The funeral service was held at Thaba-Bosiu Cultural Village.

The funeral was graced by King Letsie III, Prime Minister Dr Moeketsi Majoro, Thaba- Bosiu principal chief chief Khoabane Theko, Teya Teyaneng principal chief Khabasheane Sempe Masopha, South African government representatives, artistes and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema.

Speaking on behalf of Tshola family, Mr Liteboho Tshola said the legendary singer became sick at their sister’s funeral and was admitted to Berea Hospital where he passed on after only seven days.

His Majesty King Letsie III while consoling the family and the nation said the Tshola family was very lucky to have someone like Tshepo who left a good mark wherever he was and the family should stay strong. The King also said the royal family considers Tshepo Tshola as one of the royals because his parents always sang and prayed for the royal family. He urged the nation to follow in Tshola’s footsteps.
