MASERU  – World Vision yesterday donated 10 wheelchairs to the Lesotho National Federation of Organisation for the Disabled (LNFOD) as a way to help meet the needs of people with physical disabilities in Lesotho.

LNFOD Executive Director Nkhasi Sefuthi said the need for wheelchairs is huge in Lesotho and they have been waiting for some time for such equipment from the government.

“There is a long list of people with physical disabilities here and we appreciate World Vision for coming through for us by providing us with wheelchairs,” said Sefuthi.

On behalf of World Vision National Director, Maseisa Ntlama said they have provided wheelchairs for people with physical disabilities since such people are unable to independently perform their duties which violates their rights.

She said this is not only for the benefit of LNFOD and World Vision but also for the government and they are committed to changing the lives of Basotho. She urged all of those who received these wheelchairs to contribute to the development of the country.

On behalf of the recipients, Lejone Semuli expressed gratitude for this gift which will help him perform his duties and move from place to place.
