Machabeng College recognises achievers

MASERU – Machabeng College hosted its annual prize-giving ceremony yesterday at the ’Manthabiseng Convention Centre, celebrating outstanding achievers across various subjects and sporting activities.
The event celebrated the annual achievements of students across all levels at the college, recognising top performers and those who showed significant improvement in various subjects. The honoured learners included those from Secondary 1, 2, 3, 4, and IBDP 1.
The Headmaster of Machabeng College, Joy Gaylord Magombedze, described the ceremony as a testament to the institution’s unwavering commitment to excellence as an international school.
He emphasised the priority placed on student learning, academic excellence, and the development of young minds into innovators, global thinkers, and ambassadors.
Magombedze highlighted the invaluable role of teachers at Machabeng College and expressed deep appreciation for their dedication. He congratulated the achievers and encouraged them to strive for even greater achievements in the year ahead.
Among the keynote speakers, Major Bokang Molato of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) expressed his presence to honour the excellence of the learners.
He described Machabeng College as a beacon of educational excellence, likening it to a city upon a hill where masters of education reside.
Molato encouraged students to cherish their achievements and uphold their values, advising them to steer clear of high-risk behaviours that could lead to negative consequences.
“One should always stand up for what is right, regardless of the challenges,” Molato said.
He recognised the day as a testimony to the virtues of hard work, patience, and perseverance, acknowledging the challenges students face on their journey to success.
He assured students of the college’s commitment to preparing them as resilient leaders and warriors for the future.
“Success is not solely defined by achievements but also by finding happiness and fulfilment,” Molato added.
He highlighted the skills acquired at Machabeng College as foundational for future opportunities and extended gratitude to parents, teachers, and the entire Machabeng College community for their unwavering support and encouragement of the learners.
