Maseru – Thousands of Basotho Christians will on June 28 descend on Setsoto Stadium in Maseru to mark the arrival of the first missionaries in the country nearly 200 years ago.

The General Secretary of the National Prayer Coordinating Committee ‘Mats’olofelo Ts’olofelo today said the purpose of the event is to help Christians reconnect with God.

The gathering is an annual event to commemorate the arrival of French missionaries in what was then Basutoland in 1833.

“This council includes Scripture Union, Lebotho la Thapelo, Koli ea malla, the Rock Ministry, Revival Times and the Christian Council of Lesotho (CCL).”

The theme of this year’s gathering is: “Working together to make the Lesotho we want”.
