‘Honda Fit Robber’ steals M2.4 from Chinese

MASERU – A 28-year-old resident of Ha-Motloheloa in Roma who last month robbed several Chinese owned shops of a total M2, 4 million is cooling his heels at Maseru Central Police Station awaiting trial.
The daring robber who cannot be named for legal reasons cornered his first victim outside Standard Bank in Maseru and got away with M2 006 000 million in the broad daylight heist.
Soon after, the suspect who got away in a Honda Fit raided another Chinese owned business in Mazenod and spirited away some M360 000.
Deputy police Spokesperson Senior Inspector Ralentoane Motsoetla on Monday said police believe the suspect also robbed another Chinese Shop at Maputsoe where the security guard was shot and killed.
“The report shows the accused is also allegedly suspected of robbing another Chinese Shop at Maputsoe where a security guard was shot.
“The Honda Fit which was used in all these things is still at the Police Station.
“M4800 was found in the possession of the accused. He said he while the rest of the money used to buy a site,” Senior Inspector Motsoetla said.
The “Honda Fit Robber” will appear in court as soon as police investigations are complete.
