Maseru-The People’s Republic of China yesterday held a welcome reception at a local hotel for its new ambassador to Lesotho, Lei Kezhong, who has just assumed office in Maseru.
Lei Kezhong arrived in Lesotho on August 1.
“At my first sight of Lesotho, I was amazed by the unique and spectacular landscape of the Mountain Kingdom and deeply moved by the kindness, friendliness and hospitality of Basotho,” Kezhong said.
In the past month he presented the letter of credence to His Majesty King Letsie III, paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister Dr Thomas Thabane, Hon. Speaker of the National Assembly Sephiri Motanyane, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations Lesego Makgothi and other government ministers.
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between the People’s Republic of China and the Kingdom of Lesotho.
