Rugby Sevens to debut at Eswatini tourney

MASERU – Lesotho Rugby Sevens will jet-in eSwatini tomorrow (Thursday) to battle it out at the eSwatini Rugby Tournament from December 21 – 22.
The tourney arranged the eSwatini Rugby Union wil, feature contesters Malawi, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and the host eSwatini as well rugby clubs from South Africa.
The showpiece will also mark Lesotho’s debut in an international rugby tournament.
Lesotho Rugby Sevens head coach Morapeli Motaung told Public Eye, his charges are ready for the challenge after hosting Africa Central Tournament in August this year which was a wake up call for them.
He said, there will be no prize money for the winning teams, but there is a going to be a trophy for the first winner and medals for run-ups.
He said, the tournament is so vital since they are going to battle for points to improve their African Rugby Rankings.
