LCS hands Christmas present to Matlama on a platter

MASERU – Matlama FC received an early Christmas present after clinching the Independence Cup on Sunday at Setsoto Stadium which comes with a whopping M200, 000 prize money.
The EPL defending Champions Matlama FC Tse Putsoa were crowned Independence Cup winners for 2019 after they beat LCS FC ‘Masheshena’ one nil in their campaign of independence cup final.
LCS FC’s own goal by their striker Keketso Snyders in 80th minute was enough to grant Matlama FC Independence Cup victory on a silver platter.
The Charles Manda side began their campaign in fine style after thrashing LDF 2-1 in the semi-finals, while in another semi-final match LCS beat Bantu FC 1- 0.
Matlama FC won the Independence Cup and took home M200, 000 while LCS pocketed home M100, 000 for the second position.
In the losers- finals, LDF defeated Bantu FC 2- 1 and they took home a bronze medal along with M70, 000 while Bantu FC pocketed M50, 000 in fourth position.
Player of the Tournament, Matlama FC defender Stephane Heyong Esson walked away with M8 000 while top goal score Jane Thaba-Nt’so also received M6 000.
Matlama FC goalkeeper Monaheng Ramalefane walked away with M6000 for the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award.
Referee of the tournament, Osiase Koto received M4 000 while assistant referees Puleng Mohomo and Siza Hlankamandla received M2 000 each.
