MASERU – The Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA) has introduced an internship programme to give students practical experience.
According to LIA, the programme will help sharpen the students before they join “the real world of work”.
LIA Chief Executive Monyaola Mosoloane said the recently introduced Lesotho Professional Accountancy Programme (LePAP) includes a practical experience component.
“This is to ensure development of all rounded individuals and ease transition from school to the world of work. It is only after completion of this internship that a student can be found worthy of an award of a qualification.
“For the practical experience to yield results, LIA has accredited certain companies to provide attachment for students…The pioneers of the programme, who enrolled in 2018 are now ready for attachment for the first stage of the programme.”
