MAPUTSOE – Ghanaians living in Lesotho will continue to play a key role in improving relations between the two commonwealth countries, the Ghanaian high commissioner to Lesotho George Ayisi-Boateng said.

Speaking at the inauguration of an honorary consulate here on Thursday, Ayisi-Boateng lauded the contribution of Ghanaians working in various professions including medicine, education and other professions.

“these Ghanaians provide an easy framework for analyzing the effectiveness of the cooperation between our two countries at the people to people level. Their work and interactions with their Basotho hosts is an example of concrete cooperation with enduring benefits for our two countries,” he said.

Dr. Yaw Nyameche Gyasi-Agei is the new consulate general.

He replaces Dr. Frank Baffoe who died in December 2016. The consulate will help the Ghanaian community in processing passports as well as other consular issues. Ayisi-Boateng who is based in South Africa represents his country in Seychelles, Eswatini, and Lesotho.
