MASERU – The National AIDS Commission will on Thursday host stakeholders for the validation of their National Operational Plan (NoP). The NoP is a document developed to state the operational details and cost in the HIV/AIDS response in the country.

Its key objectives being to ensure the sub activities and cost inputs for each activity in the NoP are realistic and achievable, to review the cost of assumptions in the draft; to ensure the alignment to standard unit cost used in other national planning and budgeting processes, and to show linkages between the national HIV Operational Plan and the district planning process.

The meeting is further aimed at agreeing on quality assurances of the draft NoP and validating it as a good product or agreeing on areas for improvement.

Expected outcomes from the meeting are a final validated national HIV and AIDS Operational Plan with finalized activities and sub- activities, cost inputs, unit cost assumptions as well as ensuring the NoP is aligned to the National HIV and AIDS Strategic plan and charting a way forward for its launch and dissemination.
