MASERU – The national Council on High Education (CHE) has embarked on a course to capacitate experts in various teaching fields to appropriately implement Lesotho’s qualifications frame work.
CHE Director-Policy and Strategy Formation, Motlalepula Khobotlo, said this is being done to ensure their readiness and to evaluate qualifications in different fields.
“The Council aims to promote quality in higher education in Lesotho and ensures that all institutions of higher learning in the country adhere to set standards and produce high calibre graduates who can contribute positively towards socio-economic development of the country,” he said.
It is part of CHE mandate to publish information on developments in higher education on a regular basis, he said.
Higher education institutions that CHE regulates are those that offer academic qualifications higher than Cambridge Overseas School Certificate/Lesotho General Certificate of Secondary Education or equivalent, as opposed to technical and vocational training programmes.
