Catholic Church mourns prominent priest

Maseru – The Catholic Church, by far the largest Christian denomination in Lesotho which is a largely Christian country, is reeling in grief after the passing of Archbishop Emeritus for Maseru Archdiocese Bernard Mosiuoa Mohlalisi OMI.
According to the Provincial Superior of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, Father Mothusi Boatile OMI, the 87-year-old cleric died on Friday morning after battling an undisclosed illness for more than five years.
He was born on 16 March 1933 and was ordained into priesthood in 1963.
He was Archbishop for Maseru from 1990 until 2009. He made history when he handed over his title to the current Archbishop of the Maseru Archdiocese, Gerard Tlali Lerotholi OMI while still alive.
Mohlalisi was assigned the post of Apostolic Administrator for the Qacha’s Nek Diocese.
