Majoro fires Mosito

Maseru – In a move likely to send shock waves in Lesotho’s political circles, Prime Mnister Dr Moeketsi today fired the recently appointed Defence and National Security Minister, Honourable Lekhetho Mosito.
In a letter dated 15 February, 2021, addressed to Mosito, Majoro said His Majesty King Letsie III “has noted and accepted my advice to release you from the Office of Minister in the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho. In this connection, your appointment as a Minister ends on 15th February, 2021”.
Observers attribute this short stint of Mosito to ongoing turbulence within the ruling All Basotho Convention, which is increasingly threatening the stability of the current administration.
