MASERU – Former Lioli FC Assistant Communications and Marketing Manager (CMM), Motlatsi Mofokeng, has signed a new contract with the Teyateyaneng-based club as a Media Liaison Officer effective March 1. Mofokeng’s contract as Assistant CMM expired on January 31, having joined Lioli in 2018 from Bantu FC on a three-year contract.

Several clubs had shown interest in his services and had initiated talks, but management at ‘Tse Nala’ also expressed interest to continue with Mofokeng’s services. Club president, Lebohang Thotanyana, told Public Eye in a previous interview the management planned to convert Mofokeng’s position to a media officer.

Media officers specifically represent their organisations or clubs to the media, encompassing both reactive and proactive functions, they deal with print media, broadcast and other mediums; while CMMs are generally supposed to create, implement and oversee communications programmes that effectively describe and promote an organisations or club and its products.

Mofokeng began his career as Communications and Marketing Manager with Sefotha-fotha FC, which now campaigns in Lesotho’s top-flight league; they were then competing in the A-Division. He later moved to Mpharane Celtic, and then he joined Qoaling Highlanders and Bantu respectively before joining Lioli in 2018.
