Man lures job seeker, accused of traffickin

MASERU – Ts’itso Kori, 34, who lives at Hlapalimane in Qacha appeared before the magistrate court on March 30, 2021, accused of human trafficking.
Kori was asked to pay M1 000 bail or spent a year in prison.
Police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli said the victim posted on Facebook that she needed help to find a job and the suspect promised the woman a job and asked her to go to Qacha’s Nek on the promise that the victim would work at his house and he would pay her M200 monthly.
The suspect asked the women to take a taxi to Qacha and he would pay the taxi when she arrives which he did when the victim arrived.
The suspect then took the victim to a single roomed house and when the victim asked where she was going to sleep the suspect told her they were going to sleep on the same bed.
The victim refused and they started arguing until the suspect deciding to take the girl to one of the neighbors so that she could sleep there. The next morning the neighbors took the woman to the police station to report the case. Then the suspect was caught by the police.
Upon being questioned about human trafficking, the suspect said he was not going to give the woman a job but he was planning to marry her.
