Covid-19: Lesotho moves to blue level

Maseru – Addressing the nation today on COVID 19 updates, Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro has announced changes to ease up restrictions under level blue although he stressed that the battle against COVID 19 is not over yet.
The restrictions have been relaxed for the reason that the infectivity rate in Lesotho is recorded controllable.
As a result, Majoro said that restrictions will officially be relaxed on Wednesday 28, 2021 where among others political rallies will be allowed to take place for not more than three hours.
He added that football supporters will be allowed at football grounds to watch matches, and travelers moving between Lesotho and South Africa will be allowed to cross freely on condition that they produce their COVID 19 test certificates.
Speaking on the vaccines against COVID 19, Majoro explained that over 20 000 health workers have received vaccinations, and currently chronic diseases patients and media personnel are also getting vaccinated.
He said that by early May, a 100 000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from the Covax Facility is set to arrive in Lesotho, adding that an order of 1million Johnson and Johnson vaccine from the Africa Centre of Diseases Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has also been although it is not yet known when it will arrive in Lesotho.
