Maseru – Six people were arrested last week in relation to the theft of 265 livestock.
According to sub inspector ’Mareabetsoe Mofoka of the Lesotho Mounted Police Services, 36 cows, 13 horses, 176 sheep, 26 goats, 13 horses and 14 donkeys were reported stolen.
Police have managed to recovered 79 of the animals reported stolen and they also found 16 that were lost.
A total of 27 reports were made in relation to animal theft.
Mofoka added that through their Restore Hope Campaign, police arrested six people for possession of an illegal firearm and three bullets.
Six cases where opened against the six while four of them have been tried in court with two pending trial.
