MASERU – A 30-year-old Lower Thetsane woman was arrested last week for defrauding about 55 youth M200 each in exchange for jobs.

Police spokesperson Sub Inspector ’Mareabetsoe Mofoka said the offender had been falsely promising people jobs that she said were offered by the Covid-19 Youth Project Federation funded by the International Youth Federation.

Police said the victims were asked to pay M200 registration to work under the project that will deploy youth in communities to teach the general public about Covid-19.

The offender had also hired an unconfirmed number of Basotho-owned cars for the mission.
