MASERU – Two athletes and five officials will represent Lesotho at the Tokyo Olympics. ’Neheng Khatala will represent the female athletes while Khoarahlane Seutloali will represent the males. Speaking at a media conference held at its premises yesterday, the Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) announced it had cut down on the delegation to the Olympics.
According to the LNOC spokesperson, Moshoeshoe Molapo, the decision was informed by the Covid-19 regulations. “We had to trim the team’s size and unfortunately in the process we also had to leave out the media representative”, he said.
The Olympics will take place on August 7 and 8 respectively with the opening ceremony scheduled for July 23 while the closing ceremony will be held on August 8.
