Govt warns on tinned veggies

The Ministry of Health has instructed Environmental Health Officers in Lesotho to remove KOO and HUGO’S CANNED VEGETABLES products that the South African Tiger Brands Company recalled off the shelves due to possible contamination of the canned products.

The affected cans are those manufactured between May 1, 2019 to May 5, 2021. 

For the safety of Basotho consumers, the Ministry also ordered the Port Health Officers to ensure that no such products are brought into the country. Businesses are also instructed to immediately stop the sale these products.

In addition, members of the public who are already in possession of the products are warned against consuming them but should, instead, return them to the store where they purchased them.
