MAFETENG – Prime Minister Dr Moeketsi Majoro yesterday launched an oxygen generating plant at Mafeteng Hospital. Mafeteng Hospital is a regional hospital and one of the nation’s quarantine centres which is equipped with high standard equipment and first class health experts.
The oxygen plant worth about M4.5 million is the latest to be launched after one in Leribe District at Motebang hospital and another in TY. Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Majoro said the plant will come in handy for the country’s efforts to manage and Covid-19.
When Covid-19 struck last year, the country experienced acute shortage of oxygen and several lives could not be saved. Mafeteng Hospital DMO Dr Ntsasa said the oxygen plant is going to generate one of the most integral parts in clinical management of Covid-19. “It is known that in the past we had shortages of oxygen. But from today that shall be a thing of the past,” Dr Ntsasa said.
