Ecocash enhances electronic payments

Maseru – Econet Telecom Lesotho, in partnership with Pay Lesotho, has innovated its Ecocash services by launching Eco Cash Point of Sale (POS) today. General Manger Econet Services, ’Matikoe Letsie, said due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Eco Cash POS was established as part of moves towards the fourth industrial revolution to reduce the use of hard cash by using electronic payments to ease the lives of customers, especially those without bank accounts.
“Today Eco Cash has been innovated and the customers are going to use gadgets to pay for goods and services. This product is already available at KFC, Stadium Food Court, Barcelos, The Market and Sefalane Liquor stores, just to mention a few, and it is going to be available in different retail stores, filling stations, hotels and BnBs,” Letsie said.
Pay Lesotho CEO Lerato Masopha said POS integration with Eco Cash is going to be very helpful to the customers and business owners since the customers will receive a digital receipt after paying for the services and the business owner will be left with both the hardcopy receipt and the digital version.
