Private Khoale succumbed to malaria illness: LDF

MASERU – The Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) has said Private Moalosi Khoaele lost his life to a malaria related illness. A sombre atmosphere enveloped Maseru yesterday when his body arrived home at Mejametalana Air base.

Speaking at a media conference at the air base yesterday, LDF officials dispelled rumours circulating, especially on social media, suggesting the soldier could have been killed in combat. Pvt Khoaele was part of an army contingent deployed to Mozambique as part of the SADC defence mission to restore peace to the troubled region in the north of Mozambique.
