MASERU – World AIDS Day is commemorated today globally. The day, which has been celebrated on December 1 each year since 1988, is set aside to help raise awareness about the AIDS pandemic and mourn those that have lost their lives to the disease.
This year’s theme is “End inequalities. End AIDS. End pandemics”. According to a statement by the UNAIDS, if leaders could fulfil this mandate, the world could be AIDS-free by 2030.
