MASERU – Some of country’s top-flight clubs are in hot pursuit of services of several goalkeepers currently being drilled by Easy’s Goalkeepers Academy. Veteran goalkeeper Ezaiah ‘Eazy’ Mosala founded the academy, himself being one of the finest shot-stoppers this country has ever produced.
He is also a former goal-minder for Lesotho’s top clubs, Lioli and Matlama, amongst others. Mosala has also been the national Under-17 team, Bahlabani, goalkeeper coach. Public Eye has established that most of the academy’s goalkeepers are in demand ahead of the 2021/22 Season, with Mosala confirming the rumour-mill in an interview this week.
Even though he was reluctant to reveal the names of the goalkeepers and all the clubs that have shown interest, Mosala confirmed that his goalkeepers are set to join some of the country’s premier league as well as A-Division sides. “I have two goalkeepers that I am going to release to Lijabatho FC this Thursday,” said Masala in an interview with Public Eye on Tuesday this week. “I will be having last training session with them tomorrow.” He, however, pointed out that he would only confirm the outcome of the Lijabatho deal after two weeks.
“I will be able to confirm after two weeks whether Lijabatho sign the goalkeepers or not. I will hear from them whether they give them contracts or not.” Mosala further said: “I also have two other goalkeepers whose move to some A-Division clubs I am finalizing.” Public Eye has also been following indications that premier league side, Roma-based Manonyane FC, are interest in acquiring the services of one of the academy’s protégés.
“Manonyane is among the clubs who showed interest in Easy’s goalkeepers,” said one source. The majority of Easy’s goalkeepers, sources said, would be joining some of the country’s B-Division clubs as well. Mosala launched the academy in June this year. He started with six goalkeepers from under-17 and 20, but the number of goalkeepers with the academy has since increased to 11.
