MASERU – The Land Administration Authority (LAA) will today celebrate its award for best organisational excellence and customer focus and its milestones. The ceremony will be led by the Minister of Local Government and Chieftainship. LAA was established as an autonomous government body by the Land Administration Authority Act 2010 to modernise and improve land administration services and to reduce land transaction costs and the time it takes to acquire or dispose of a leasehold tittle to land.

More specifically, the LAA administers the lease-holding land system (lease title, grant of consents for transactions and keeps all land holdings records). It administers the land deeds registration system, cadastral surveys and all national spatial data while providing dispute resolution services for land matters. LAA also advises the Minister of Local Government and Chieftainship and the government of Lesotho on land administration laws and policies.

On Sunday, 3 July 2022 LAA received the award in Barcelona (Spain) at the Barcelona Forum where 43 companies were selected from public administrations and organisations representing 38 countries and different sectors from Europe, Asia, The Americas and Australia. This international award by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) recognises and highlights outstanding business results, best practices, quality awareness and achievements by companies in regional and global markets.

Additionally, the ESQR awards recognise organisations’ distinctive performance improvement, organisational excellence, customer focus and encourage them to share their best practices, experience and knowledge with other organisations. The recognition is an independent assurance for organizations, stakeholders and customers meant to motivate employees to strive for sustainable excellence.
